A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2026-03-11: setups, thought process, and outcomes.

Running P&L for 2026-03-11

Today, I found myself navigating some choppy waters. The tape was mixed, with some names showing strong momentum while others struggled to hold their ground. I focused on the biotechnology and industrial sectors, which had their fair share of volatility and volume.

My first notable trade was on ACXP. I entered at 5.05, looking for a quick scalp as it had recently pulled back from a higher level. The initial setup was promising, with the 1m9 near 4.94 and the 1m20 around 4.89, suggesting potential support. However, what I thought would be a bounce turned into a fade. I managed to exit at 4.75, but my average exit settled at 4.72, resulting in a loss of about $1,111, or -3.85R. The stock ran up slightly at first but then struggled to hold the gains, and sellers were aggressive, pushing it back down. The action was choppy, and I misread the strength on the tape.

Throughout the day, I saw some interesting dynamics in the market. The industrials were active, particularly with names like DXST, but the real fireworks came from the biotech sector. Stocks like SXTP with a very low float were moving explosively, which I had my eye on, but I didn't capitalize on them as effectively as I could have. The rvol was high, especially for the biotech names, indicating significant interest and trading volume.

Overall, I managed to keep my focus on the setups that were working, but I felt a bit off on my timing. I had a few decent trades that didn’t quite hit the mark, which can happen on days like this.

As the day progressed, I noticed some of the names that I was trading were not showing the expected follow-through. A few times, I entered on what looked like solid setups, but the tape just didn’t support the move. This inconsistency led to some quick cuts and adjustments, but it felt like I was reacting rather than anticipating.

What I did well today was identifying potential setups quickly and being ready to act. However, I struggled with execution on a couple of trades; I could have been more patient and waited for better confirmation before jumping in.

Trading grade: B. I had good reads on several setups but let a couple of them slip due to poor execution and timing.

Tomorrow is another chance to refine my approach and capitalize on the clearer setups.
