Running P&L for 2026-03-09

Day P&L: $+42.30 | Total R: +0.14R

I saw some early activity in AZI, which was a name I’d been following closely. It had a decent float and was trading in the consumer cyclical sector, so I figured it could be a good opportunity. I jumped in long at 0.656, but the trade quickly turned against me. I exited at 0.6437 for a loss of around $39.57. The tape showed some selling pressure right after I entered, and I should have trusted that instinct more. The stock started to fade immediately, which should have been a signal to cut my losses sooner.

After that initial misstep, I found a small win on AZI, capturing a bounce at 0.5937 and selling at 0.6012. It felt like a quick scalp, but the level held well enough for a nice gain. This trade was a good reminder that patience can pay off; the stock was showing some signs of life after a sharp drop.

Later, I shifted my focus to CIIT. I took a long position at 0.709, but the stock barely moved before I exited at 0.7124 for a small win. This was a low float name with a lot of volatility, but I didn’t capitalize on it as much as I could have. That said, it was a good reminder to stay nimble and not force trades.

Then came LRHC, which turned out to be a standout trade. I entered at 1.65 and sold at 1.728 for a solid $231 profit. The stock was in a nice uptrend, and I felt confident about the entry. It had strong buying volume, and the tape was showing a lot of support at that level. I was able to ride the momentum effectively here, which felt good after a few earlier losses.

The most memorable moment of the day was with SNDK, where I caught a nice move from 521 to 561.618. This trade netted me over $400, and it was a classic case of following the tape. The stock had been consolidating, and I sensed a breakout was coming. I managed my risk well on this one, which is always a plus.

However, I fell back into bad habits with AZI, getting chopped up on multiple attempts throughout the morning. I took several long positions, only to watch them fade quickly. I kept trying to catch the bottom, but the tape was just too weak. I ended up losing $244 on one of those trades alone. This was a clear sign that I should have stepped back and reassessed instead of forcing trades.

As I continued through the day, I tried to diversify my positions. I took trades in DTCK and ASNS, capturing a few small gains but also giving back some profits on poorly timed exits. The action in these names was mixed, and I should have been more selective. The low volume on some of these trades didn’t help either, especially with names like EDSA and OLOX, which were not moving as expected.

I ended the day with a net profit of $42.30. It wasn’t a home run, but given the number of trades (70) and the win rate being just 37%, I was able to salvage what could have been a much worse outcome. The market felt choppy, especially in the consumer cyclical sector, where AZI was the main focus.

What I did well: I managed to catch some decent momentum trades, particularly with LRHC and SNDK. I also did well to recognize when to exit a position quickly to minimize losses, especially after the initial AZI trade.

What I did poorly: I overtraded AZI, trying to catch the move without recognizing the trend was against me. I also didn’t stick to my plan in several instances, which led to unnecessary losses. I chased trades at times instead of waiting for better setups.

Trading grade: B+. Entries were mostly clean, and I had some solid wins, but I let a few revenge trades get the better of me, which ate into my profits.

Tomorrow’s takeaway is to be more selective with trade entries and trust my instincts on the tape. Sometimes, it’s better to sit back and watch the market rather than dive into every opportunity.
