A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2026-01-13: setups, thought process, and outcomes.

Running P&L for 2026-01-13

The day kicked off with AHMA, which was on my radar after showing some volatility in the pre-market. I entered long at 14.71, looking for a washout long setup as it had pulled back sharply from the highs and was showing signs of a possible reversal. At the time of my entry, the 1m9 was at 13.66, making it an extended entry. The idea was to catch a bounce, but the trade quickly turned against me. I had a best exit at 15.11 but ended up averaging out at 13.11, resulting in a loss of about $1,496. The stock initially showed some promise but sellers were aggressive, and it couldn't hold the levels I was looking for.

Next up was XAIR, where I took a long position at 1.67, banking on a sub VWAP trap. The setup looked good as it had previously traded above VWAP and then faded below, suggesting a potential squeeze back up. However, the tape didn’t cooperate. It quickly reversed, and I exited for a loss at 1.51, which was my average exit. The best exit was 1.61. The action felt choppy, and sellers were staying heavy, which made it tough to hold the position.

Overall, the healthcare sector saw quite a bit of action today, especially with names like XAIR and DCOY. DCOY had a notable rvol, but I didn’t engage. Instead, I focused on the consumer cyclical names, which were more volatile, but even they couldn’t find a solid footing. AHMA and EVTV both had gaps that attracted attention, but the execution was lacking on my part.

What I did well was recognizing the setups early, especially with AHMA. I identified the washout long, but I didn’t execute effectively when the trade turned against me. What I did poorly was not cutting losses sooner; I held on too long with both AHMA and XAIR, hoping for a turnaround that didn’t come.

Trading grade: C - I had solid setups but failed to manage risk effectively and executed poorly on exits.

Looking to tighten up the execution tomorrow and focus on the setups that show real strength.
