A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2026-01-12: setups, thought process, and outcomes.

Running P&L for 2026-01-12

BDSX was the name that caught my attention early on. My first entry was at 7.81, looking to capitalize on a sub VWAP trap. It had pulled back below VWAP but showed signs of reclaiming that level. The tape was supportive, with bids holding up nicely as I took my position. It pushed up to 8.14, where I exited for a solid gain of $479, with the average exit at 7.98. The stock traded well, moving up steadily before hitting some resistance. Overall, a good start to the day.

Next up was EVTV, which I entered at 1.59, also looking for a sub VWAP trap. The entry was tight, right near the 1m9 at 1.59. However, this trade didn’t work out as planned. The sellers were aggressive, and I quickly cut the position for a loss of $367 at 1.56. The tape showed a lack of follow-through, and I recognized that I needed to exit before it got worse.

I shifted back to BDSX, entering again at 8.86, this time looking for a washout long after a sharp drop. The initial drop had pushed through support, but I was hoping for a reversal. Unfortunately, it didn’t materialize, and I exited at 8.74 for a $362 loss. The tape was choppy, with sellers staying heavy, and it was clear this one wasn't ready to bounce back up.

Then I moved to LVLU, entering at 11.72 on another sub VWAP trap. It had shown some strength, and I was able to exit at 12.21 for a $343 gain. The stock traded well, holding above key levels and pushing up nicely. It was nice to see that follow-through, reinforcing my read on the setup.

I went back into LVLU shortly after, entering at 13.43. The entry was extended above key levels, but I was still looking for the continuation. Unfortunately, the trade didn’t hold, and I exited at 13.99 for a $337 profit. The stock had its moments, but the volatility was evident, and I had to remain nimble.

Returning to BDSX again, I entered at 9.32, anticipating a parabolic squeeze. The stock initially pushed, but then faded hard. I ended up cutting the position at 8.71, taking a significant loss of $1,483. The tape was telling a different story than expected, with heavy selling pressure that I couldn’t ignore.

Overall, the day was tough. I had a few bright spots with BDSX and LVLU, but the losses from the other trades really added up. The healthcare sector was active, especially with names like BDSX and OM showing rotation. The volatility was clear, with higher rvols in both sectors, and I should have adjusted my strategy to account for that.

What I did well: I executed my entries on BDSX and LVLU effectively based on the setups.
What I did poorly: I didn’t manage the risk well on my later trades, particularly with BDSX.

Trading grade: C - Mixed execution with some good entries but poor risk management on the back end.

Tomorrow’s a new day to refine my approach.
