A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2026-04-01: setups, thought process, and outcomes.
Schedule note (through 4/1): I'm writing from Japan. The US market opens around 10:30pm local, so I mostly trade premarket and roughly the first hour of the regular session before wrapping up — I generally miss whatever develops later in the day.
SST
I entered SST at 5.35, looking for a quick move after seeing potential for a bounce. The stock didn't hold the momentum as expected and quickly pulled back. I got some shares out at 5.35 but sold the majority for a loss at 5.15 when it couldn't hold above that level. The action was choppy, and sellers were aggressive, which made it difficult to maintain a position.
ELAB
Next, I went long on ELAB at 10.22 looking for continuation, but the day on this name did not work out net — this leg was part of a larger give-back on the ticker, not something to frame as a clean “win the day” story.
ELAB
I entered ELAB again at 11.88, but this time, the setup didn't hold. After the initial push, it reversed quickly, and I sold the majority for a loss at 11.35 when it failed to hold up. The action was erratic, and I was caught in a liquidity trap as sellers stepped in aggressively.
ELAB
I took another entry on ELAB at 12.39, but again, it didn't work out. I managed to get some shares out at 12.85, but I sold the majority for a loss at 11.95 as it pulled back sharply. The move up was short-lived and showed signs of exhaustion, which prompted my exit.
ELAB
I re-entered ELAB at 11.14, and this time it worked. I sold the top as it halted up at 12.34 because I didn't trust the strength yet. The stock held near key levels, and the action was strong enough to take advantage of the halt.
CYCN
Finally, I entered CYCN at 7.96, but the trade went against me. I sold the majority for a loss at 7.86 as it struggled to maintain any upward momentum. The action was weak, and the volume, while initially strong, faded quickly, which made it a tough hold.
What I did well:
I stopped once I hit max loss and stayed flat for the rest of the session — that’s the only discipline win worth mentioning today.
What I did poorly:
Everything else: poor reads, bad location, and pressing after the tape already said no — finishing red on the day means no “I did well on ELAB” story when the name was net negative.
Trading grade: F — max-loss lockout (−4.84R total); scored as a failed session.
Closing thoughts:
The mistakes today were obvious and adjustable — mostly chasing and holding too long when setups were already failing. Next session I need to clean that up and execute with tighter risk so I don’t repeat the same errors.
