Running P&L for 2026-02-09

Day P&L: $-1711.40 | Total R: -4.52R

The morning opened with a lot of chatter around UOKA following its massive 92% gap. It was clearly on everyone’s radar, and I was eager to get involved. My first couple of trades on MNTS were attempts at a rebound after it faded below VWAP, but I misjudged the strength of the sell-off. I entered long at 7.77, hoping for a quick bounce, but the tape showed no real support, and I quickly exited at 7.72 for a small loss. The same story played out in my next MNTS trade where I entered at 7.85, but again the momentum was weak, and I sold at 7.82.

This set the tone for my morning. I shifted focus to UOKA, which was clearly experiencing high volume and volatility. I took several long positions, starting with an entry at 3.81. The stock initially seemed to hold, but it quickly reversed, and I took a significant hit, exiting at 3.52. A few moments later, I decided to re-enter at 3.60, but again, I was caught off guard as it struggled to reclaim any ground, leading to another small loss.

Finally, I caught a break with a solid entry at 3.64. This time, the stock had a nice pop, and I was able to lock in a profit of over $1,500 as it surged to 3.93. That felt good, but the volatility was relentless. I tried to ride the momentum with a few more trades, but I got trapped in a couple of false moves, including a long at 4.08 that faded right back down.

Next, I moved to BRLS, which had been showing some potential. I started with a long near 1.41 but got whipsawed out quickly as it struggled to maintain any upward momentum. The stock was choppy, and I kept trying to catch the bottom, but the tape was indicating a lack of buyers. I had a few small wins, but they were overshadowed by the losses from earlier in the day.

The afternoon was a mixed bag. I tried to stay focused and shift my strategy, but the tape felt heavy. I took a couple of trades on ABP, including a long at 2.41 that worked out for a small gain. However, my later trades didn’t go as planned, and I ended up giving back some of those gains. I was still battling the urge to revenge trade, which hurt my overall P&L.

What I did well today was recognize when to cut my losses, especially after the early trades on MNTS and UOKA. I didn’t let a few bad trades turn into a downward spiral. However, I was definitely overtrading, especially in the choppy environment with BRLS. I kept trying to force trades when I should have waited for clearer setups. My win rate of 31% shows that I was more often wrong than right, and my average loss was larger than my average win.

Trading grade: C+. My entries were forced in many cases, and while I managed to cut losses, the overall execution lacked clarity and precision. I need to refine my approach for tomorrow and focus on quality over quantity.

One key takeaway for tomorrow: patience is crucial in a volatile market. I need to wait for clear setups and stop trying to catch every bounce or reversal.
