Running P&L for 2025-12-29

The day kicked off with a solid trade on SOPA. I entered at 3.26 as it set up for a sub VWAP trap. The stock had gapped down and was looking for a reclaim after fading below VWAP earlier. My initial entry was extended above several key levels, but the tape showed buyers stepping in. It held well, and I managed to exit at 3.34 for a nice profit of $331, with my best exit at 3.45. The action was choppy initially, but once it found its footing, it squeezed back up nicely, making for a clean trade.

Later in the morning, I took another stab at SOPA, this time entering at 2.99. The setup was similar—a sub VWAP trap. The stock had pulled back and was testing the VWAP from below, but I saw buyers starting to show strength. My exit came at 3.08, netting me another $323. The tape was supportive as it reclaimed VWAP, and I was able to ride that momentum for a quick gain. The overall flow in the name was solid, with bids holding up nicely, which added confidence to the trade.

As the day progressed, the market showed mixed signals. The healthcare sector, particularly WOK, was a standout with its massive gap up, but the volume was thin given the float. It traded like a thin name, and while I didn't take a position, it was fascinating to watch how quickly it could move. The volatility in that sector was palpable, especially with short interest being relatively high.

I also noticed the tech sector, with names like RPGL, showing some resilience. It had a smaller float and was trading with decent volume, but I was cautious after a few choppy trades. The software application industry seems to be under pressure, but there were moments where it looked like it could bounce. I stayed on the sidelines for most of those moves, preferring to focus on cleaner setups.

Overall, I executed well on my entries, particularly with SOPA. I liked that I was able to spot the setups early and capitalize on the momentum. However, I did have a few trades that I exited too quickly or where I could have held for larger gains. The market's unpredictability made it tough to stay in positions longer than I wanted, especially with some names fading hard after brief spikes.

What I did well: I identified strong setups in SOPA and executed entries at favorable levels.
What I did poorly: Missed some follow-through on trades where I could have let profits run longer.

Trading grade: B+ — solid execution on entries, but could improve on managing exits for larger wins.
