Running P&L for 2025-12-29

Day P&L: $+1046.90 | Total R: +2.38R

The morning saw WOK making some noise right out of the gate. I took two quick trades on it, both aiming for a bounce off VWAP after it opened strong. My first entry was around 5.81, and I was looking for a solid reclaim, but the tape didn’t cooperate. It pulled back too quickly, and I exited at 5.78 for a $100 loss. The second attempt was similar; I entered at 5.84, hoping for a push, but it faded to 5.79, costing me another $150. The volume was decent, but the high short interest at 35.1% suggested a lot of uncertainty, and I should have seen that coming.

After the WOK struggles, I shifted gears to SOPA, which had been showing some strong relative volume and a decent gap down. I caught a small bounce initially, entering at 2.92 and quickly exiting for a tiny gain of $7.43. Nothing to write home about, but it set me up for a better entry just moments later. My next entry at 2.97 was on a sub VWAP trap, and this time, the stock rewarded me as it pushed to 3.03, netting a solid $276. This trade had the momentum I was looking for, and SOPA was clearly in a zone where buyers were stepping in.

I continued to work SOPA, executing a series of sub VWAP trap trades. I had a few more winners, including a $331 gain on a move from 3.26 to 3.34. The tape was strong, and I felt the flow of buyers coming in. However, I did hit a couple of bumps, including a quick $41 loss when I was too eager to chase a bounce. The volatility was there, but I needed to be more selective. The price action had its moments, with some solid pushes, but there were also moments when SOPA just chopped around, making it tricky to navigate.

Later in the morning, I took a swing at GVH after noticing some heavy volume. I jumped in at 4.74 with hopes of a quick rebound, but it didn’t hold and dropped to 4.72, leading to a $71 loss. The float was on the lower end, but the setup didn’t have the conviction I needed. It was a reminder that just because a stock is moving doesn’t mean it’s moving in the right direction for my trades.

The last trade of the day was on RPGL. After some sharp selling, I spotted a washout long setup. I entered at 0.77 and caught a nice bounce, exiting at 0.79 for a $291 win. The stock had a nice float and was showing some good relative strength, which made it easier to ride the momentum up. It capped off my day nicely and reminded me of the importance of waiting for the right setups.

Reflecting on the day, I’m satisfied with my ability to adapt after the rough start with WOK. I found my rhythm with SOPA and managed to navigate the chop, but there were definitely moments where I could have been more patient, especially with GVH. My trades had a mixed bag of results, but overall, I didn’t let early losses derail my focus.

What I did well: I adapted quickly after the WOK losses and identified better setups with SOPA. I executed a series of profitable trades that capitalized on the stock's momentum.

What I did poorly: I chased some trades too aggressively, particularly with WOK and GVH. I also could have been more selective about entries, especially in choppy conditions.

Trading grade: B+. My entries were mostly clean, and I managed to pull profits from solid setups, but some overtrading and chasing led to unnecessary losses.

One takeaway for tomorrow: stay patient and stick to high-probability setups. The market can be volatile, but if I wait for the right conditions, I can capitalize on the moves without forcing trades.
