A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2025-12-26: setups, thought process, and outcomes.
I took a couple of hits today, starting with ASPC. I entered at 42.30 looking for a washout long setup. The stock had dropped sharply earlier, and I was hoping for a reversal. Unfortunately, it didn't play out as expected. It was an extended entry, and the tape showed sellers staying heavy. I cut for a loss at 40.50, which ended up being a -$540 hit.
Shortly after that, I tried again with ASPC at 38.45, thinking there might be a second chance for that washout long. At entry, it was near the 5m20 level, which offered some potential support. However, it quickly faded again, and I exited at 36.50 for another loss, this time -$586. The volume was choppy, and it felt like the buyers just weren’t stepping up.
Later in the afternoon, I took another swing at ASPC, this time entering at 27.96. The stock had shown a bit of life, and I was looking for that washout long again after the earlier drops. This time it worked out better; I was able to exit at 28.96, netting a $401 gain. The tape felt more supportive here, and I noticed buyers stepping in, which helped push it higher.
Overall, the technology sector was volatile today, with ASPC being a prime example of that. It gapped up initially but struggled to hold those gains throughout the day. The action was choppy, and I noticed a lack of follow-through on many trades. Other sectors like aerospace and defense showed some movement but didn’t capture my attention as strongly.
What I did well: I recognized a potential setup and acted on it.
What I did poorly: I was too aggressive with ASPC on the washout longs without waiting for clearer signs of support.
Trading grade: C — I misread the tape on ASPC, leading to multiple losses before finally catching a rebound. Tomorrow, I’ll focus on being more selective.
