A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2025-11-25: setups, thought process, and outcomes.
Day P&L: $+1082.54 | Total R: +2.12R
CETY was the star of the show today, with early momentum that set the tone for my trading. I kicked things off with a washout long right at the open, catching a bounce after a quick dip. I entered at $1.694 and exited at $1.732, netting a solid $374.59. The tape was vibrant, with buyers stepping in just below $1.70, and it felt like CETY was primed for a strong day.
Shortly after, I capitalized on the 5-minute opening range breakout. I entered at $1.991 and exited at $2.100, which brought in another $653.22. The volume was substantial, and the stock sliced through resistance like butter. However, things got a bit choppy afterward. I took a few more shots on the 5-minute ORB, but the momentum began to fade. I had some quick losses—like when I entered at $2.198 and exited at $2.190 for a $42 loss.
As the morning progressed, I was still trying to play the reclaim and sub VWAP traps, but the tape was showing signs of fatigue. I had a couple of decent trades, but they were overshadowed by the many small losses. The stock was oscillating below VWAP, leading to a lot of false signals. I had to cut some trades that weren't working, which was a good call, but it felt like I was constantly fighting the tape instead of flowing with it.
The midday session was a mixed bag. I grabbed a nice washout long at $1.930 that pushed back up to $2.045, netting me $227.53. But then I took a few hits on sub VWAP traps that just didn’t hold. I got too aggressive, trying to chase bounces that simply weren’t there. The stock was volatile, and I found myself on the wrong side of the moves more often than I’d like to admit.
In the afternoon, I had a better feel for the price action. I caught a nice bull flag setup near the end of the day, entering at $2.513 and exiting at $2.556 for $573.84. The tape showed strong buying interest, and I could see the momentum building. I also had a few scalps that went well, but I still hit some annoying losses that chipped away at my gains.
Reflecting on the day, I can see where I did well and where I stumbled. I was patient with my entries early on and managed to ride a strong trend. However, I let my emotions get the better of me later in the day, especially when I overtraded on setups that weren't materializing. I should have scaled back my risk once I saw the tape wasn't cooperating.
What I did well:
- Recognized early momentum and capitalized on it.
- Cut losses quickly when trades weren’t working.
- Managed to catch a good bull flag at the end of the day.
What I did poorly:
- Overtraded in the choppy mid-morning session.
- Chased trades that didn’t fit my criteria.
- Failed to fully read the tape after the initial momentum faded.
Trading grade: B+. I executed some solid trades early on, but I gave back too much by forcing trades later when the market wasn't providing clear signals.
One key takeaway for tomorrow: I need to be more selective and patient, especially when the action gets choppy. Let’s keep the focus sharp and wait for the right setups.
