A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2026-01-16: setups, thought process, and outcomes.
LCFY was my first notable trade today. I saw a clear washout long setup as it dropped sharply, prompting me to enter at 5.60. The stock held well near the 1-minute and 5-minute moving averages, and I was able to ride it up to a best exit of 6.13, closing with an average exit of 5.81 for a solid gain of $947. The tape showed strong buying interest right after my entry, and the bids were holding up nicely, confirming the reversal.
Next up was VERO, where I saw an opportunity with a sub VWAP trap. My first entry was at 7.37. The stock pulled back a bit but quickly reclaimed the VWAP, which was encouraging. I took profits at an average exit of 7.52, with a best exit of 7.61, netting $392. The volume was decent, and I noted that the stock had a lot of momentum, which helped fuel the move.
I went back to VERO shortly after, entering again at 7.68. This time, I capitalized on the continued momentum as it pushed higher. The exit was strong, with an average of 8.04 and a best exit of 8.18, bringing in $1,084. The tape was indicating that buyers were persistent, and the stock didn't show signs of slowing down.
I took another trade on VERO at 8.74, riding the wave of the earlier moves. My entry was slightly extended above the key moving averages, but the momentum was still in play. I managed to exit at an average of 8.75 for a profit of $335. The stock continued to show strength, but I was cautious as it was getting further extended.
I then entered at 8.81, again on VERO, looking for that sub VWAP trap to play out. I exited at 9.01, capturing a profit of $417. The stock was showing heavy bids and kept pushing through resistance, which made it an easier trade to hold.
After a few successful trades, I took a larger position at 10.85 on VERO, but this one turned out to be a misstep. The stock initially moved in my favor, but it quickly reversed, and I had to cut it at 11.16 for a loss of $567. The selling pressure was aggressive, and I didn’t want to give back too much from earlier gains.
I regrouped and entered again at 12.09, taking advantage of another sub VWAP trap. This time, the stock continued to show strength, and I exited at 12.43 for a gain of $520. The action was strong, and the bids were holding, indicating that buyers were still interested.
Finally, I went back to VERO for one last trade, entering at 10.76. I was able to exit at 11.01, capturing a profit of $407. The stock was still holding up, with buyers stepping in at key levels, which gave me the confidence to trade it again.
What I did well: I capitalized on strong tape and momentum, especially with VERO. What I did poorly: I mismanaged the larger position on the last VERO trade, letting it turn against me.
Trading grade: B+ — Strong execution on multiple trades, but a clear misread on the last entry.
Looking forward to tomorrow's opportunities.
