A qualitative run-through of every trade from 2025-12-09: setups, thought process, and outcomes.
Day P&L: $+10753.91 | Total R: +17.26R
I had my eye on QCLS right from the open, and it didn’t disappoint. I caught a nice bounce off the bull flag setup, entering at 8.29 and exiting at 8.34 for a quick $128.50. The tape showed strong buying interest right off the bat, which gave me confidence to scale into a washout long shortly after. I grabbed some shares at 7.43 and sold at 7.56, netting $271.85. The stock was showing solid relative strength, and with a float of just 4.15M and a relatively high rvol, it had the potential to run.
Things took a turn when I tried to ride the wave on a subsequent washout long at 6.56. I was looking for that quick reversal, but the tape didn’t support my thesis, and I ended up taking a hit, losing over $996. That was a tough lesson in reading price action. The stock just didn’t have the buyers it needed to push higher, and I should have cut that one quicker.
Switching gears to NCPL, I was eager to capitalize on its impressive gap of 58.6%. I executed a few sub VWAP trap trades, first entering at 1.40 and exiting at 1.41 for a small win. The stock was a bit choppy, which made it tricky to find consistent entries. I had moments of success—like grabbing shares at 1.63 and selling at 1.65 for a small win—but I also found myself overtrading. I executed a ton of smaller trades in this name, which led to a lot of noise on my P&L.
The tape for NCPL was volatile, with some quick reversals that had me questioning my entries. I was right to stay in the game given the high short interest of 2.6%, but I let a few trades slip due to impatience. I should have focused on fewer setups instead of trying to catch every little move. I did manage to capture a decent win at 1.69, selling at 1.73, but the day was peppered with small losses that added up.
Later in the morning, I traded OCG, which was showing strong bullish momentum. I entered at 4.34 and exited at 4.40 for a nice $322.93. The stock was behaving well, and I felt the flow. I caught another solid move when I bought at 5.35 and sold at 5.46, but I also took a couple of losses that reminded me to respect the price action. The tape was active, and the stock had a low float of 19.82M, which contributed to the volatility.
AFJK was another name that caught my attention. I made a couple of scalp trades, one of which yielded a solid $3k win after entering at 21.56 and exiting at 24.61. The tape showed significant strength, and I capitalized on that momentum. However, I also faced a loss on a quick trade where I bought at 32.12 and sold at 31.63. This was a reminder that even in a strong trend, not every trade will go your way.
What I did well today was to identify strong setups and execute them with conviction when the tape supported my thesis. My timing on a few trades was spot on, especially with the momentum in OCG and AFJK. However, I need to work on cutting my losses quicker. I let a few trades linger too long, which hurt my overall stats.
What I did well: I identified strong setups and executed them with conviction. I was patient on the winners and managed to capitalize on momentum trades effectively.
What I did poorly: I overtraded, especially in NCPL, and failed to cut losses quickly on a couple of trades. This added unnecessary noise to my P&L.
Trading grade: B+. I had quality entries and my winners were larger than my losers, but I need to tighten up my risk management and avoid overtrading.
Looking ahead, my takeaway is to focus on fewer trades with higher conviction. Quality over quantity will serve me better in the long run.
